Precious stones come from great depths; the vast majority of diamonds originate at 700 to 800 km below the earth's surface. 

These minerals rise to the surface during volcanic explosions in extremely liquid magma that rises at supersonic speed.

The huge explosions project the minerals via magma nearer to the surface and the solidification process starts before event reaching the surface.

There are four precious stones: diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds. They are precious thanks to three well-defined criteria: rarity, purity and hardness.

The shimmering colors of rubies, emeralds, various quartzes and other large minerals are formed in contact with mineral impurities (oxides, metals such as cobalt, chromium...) that add to their original mineral composition and make up their color.
